This pleasant Gigue from the comedie lyrique "Collinette à la cour" written in 1782 by Gretry, has been arranged for two harps.

It is a good representation of the 18th century music style performed during Queen Marie-Antoinette time.

Combined with the "Gavotte Favorite" by Charles Neustedt, it makes a nice set of pieces.

This Gavotte, supposedly a favorite of Queen Marie-Antoinette, was composed by Charles Neustedt, a 19th-century composer 1834-1908.

It would be more accurate to say that it is written in the style of 18th-century music and that it is the kind of piece the Queen would probably have enjoyed.

The Gavotte can be combined with Grétry’s Gigue, it forms a collection of short pieces that are pleasant and entertaining to listen to.
